World Championships in Montreal, team support, and strong results.

Support

For Worlds, we brought 4 dancers, 1 photographer, and 1 teacher with family.

But that was not all. For our first Worlds trip, we were supported by nearly every dancer who has trained with us over the past 13 years. Their surprise video cheering us on was the icing on the cake. Thank you!

P.S. When I founded Sona Sól and TJ Academy of Irish Dance, I wanted to create a place where everyone feels good and can share the joy of Irish dance and culture. That has come true. Thank you.

P.P.S. And I also wanted to get my dancers to Worlds. That is every teacher’s dream.

11th in the world

April 2–9, 2023, our top dancers represented not only TJ Academy of Irish Dance, but the Czech Republic at the World Championships in Irish dance in Montreal. For our school, it was a major milestone.

Our team competed in the 4-hand mixed ceilí O16 category and placed 11th in a very strong field. Every team member gave their all with huge inner motivation. It is a joy to work with dancers like this.

Only four dancers stood on the stage, but thanks to the support of all TJAID and Sona Sól members, everyone who has trained with us over the past 13 years was there in spirit.

Pavel is 31st in the world

This is simply amazing. No dream is too big to come true.

In November 2022, Pavel qualified for the World Championships. The decision was immediate: he would go to Canada. He did not underestimate preparation for his first Worlds and trained whenever possible.

And it paid off.

Pavel is a role model for dancers who started as adults.
