About set dancing

Set dancing combines the elegance of French quadrilles with the untamed energy of Irish music. You’ll often come across it at Irish dance events in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Dancers often add battering to the rhythm — a style of percussive footwork performed in ordinary shoes and rooted in Irish sean-nós dancing.

ℹ️ Practical info

  • For Tuesday classes, please bring shoes that do not mark the floor (ideally dress shoes with leather soles). Happy to advise.
  • Dancers who attend classes regularly receive a 20 EUR discount on the full pass for Setdance Weekend in Prague.
